Straight forward, hardworking and powerful, are words that give a small description of what 1000 Miles Ahead stands for. Hailing from the Nijmegen area (The Netherlands), 1000 Miles Ahead is a new band, rising from the ashes of InNoSence. Formed late March 2006, they went on where InNoSence ended. The addition of a second guitar player and a new singer brought a fresh wind to the band. And on stage they also increased in their power. 1000 Miles Ahead plays fast paced punkrock mixed with some hardcore influences. Their sound is comparable with bands such as Good Riddance, Black Train Jack and Comeback Kid. Some people also hear influences from bands like the Dutch band Crivits, Gorilla Biscuits and some people even tend to hear some By The Grace of God in their sound. But the band is also not afraid to use some more melodic parts like Lagwagon or the old CraigÆs Brother. In their lyrics 1000 Miles Ahead handle every day social issues sometimes combined with some more personal issues. But all with a positive touch. In their short existence, 1000 Miles Ahead already played numerous shows and have plans for quite some more shows. They already shared the stage with bands like Onfire, Progress and Smash the Statues. In this short amount of time the live shows are already known for itÆs enthusiasm and the energetic performance. ThatÆs how they want to be remembered: quality and a lot of fun. As for now, 1000 Miles Ahead is doing quite some gigs, but is also very busy writing new material. They have plans to record and release a full length album somewhere at the end of summer 2007.
