.Releasenotes ..............................................................
Singer/songwriter Ace Enders has announced Posture Syndrome, his first new
album since 2020. Set to be released on October 31st via Pure Noise Records,
the album features EndersÆ latest singles ôDamaged Goodsö and ôHeavyö.
ôAt its core, the album is about loss, learning, letting go, and trying to
find hope,ö shares Enders. ôItÆs complex, like everyday lifeùwhere weÆre all
just trying to hold it together while pretending to be the version of
ourselves that others will dislike the least. From music business, fear of AI
making me obsolete, being old, social mediaàall the things. ThatÆs where the
name Posture Syndrome came from.ö
About ôDamaged Goodsö, he recalls: ôOne night, after finishing a recording
session for another artist around 8 PM, I was having one of those heavy days
where I felt left behind and forgotten. Instead of going home, I stayed in
the studio until midnight and wrote æDamaged Goods.Æ
It came from that dark placeùthe feeling that your best days and biggest
opportunities might already be behind you. When you can see everything in the
rearview but the windshield is foggy.. things get weird. But in writing it, I
realized thereÆs still hope even in those moments. Happiness can come from
knowing someone else might learn from your mistakes. And if youÆre lucky and
are willing to learn how to clean the fog...maybe you even get another shot.ö
Regarding ôHeavyö, he adds: ôItÆs about my experience in the industry. This
one is bittersweet. ItÆs about staying on a path for so long that you forget
how to turn backùor if you even can. ItÆs like waking up 20 years in and
realizing the mistake you made in year one is still haunting you. You can
deny it, but the weight grows heavier with every step forward. ThatÆs life.
Bittersweet."
When you're the main songwriter and driving force in a successful band, you
often find yourself creatively stifled. Your fans have certain expectations,
and therefore you have an obligation to deliver to them an album that meets
their expectations, fits in their comfort zone, all while growing and
maturing as an artist. The problem with this is, true artists are capable of
so much more, music to them is an art, and the urge to create something new
and exciting is something that they can't suppress.
Ace Enders has found that success, both critically and commercially, as the
main songwriter of The Early November. And as much as Ace loved penning rock
classics such as "Ever So Sweet" and "I Want To Hear You Sad", he wanted
more, he wanted something different. He wanted to be able to write songs that
were more experimental, and creative. He wanted to work in his own studio, on
his own schedule and create songs that were truly important to him and a pure
reflection of who he was as an artist.
These desires grew until they finally manifested into I Can Make A Mess,
Enders' solo project. Over the past 20+ years Enders û now releasing music
simply under his own name û has recorded seven full length albums, he's had
his songs in commercial movie trailers such as Must Love Dogs and has toured
the country with bands such as All American Rejects.
