Its leader was Mark Mangold, and its ░▐ ▌░ initial lineup included bassists Gary Sonny and Greg Baze and ░▐ ▌░ drummer Tommy Gunn. This edition made American Tears' debut ░▐ ▌░ album, Branded Bad, followed by their "heavy ivory" sophomore ░▐ ▌░ effort, Tear Gas. Failing to find an audience, Mangold ░▐ ▌░ reorganized, emerging with a new lineup featuring guitarist ░▐ ▌░ Evan Brooks, and a rhythm section of Kirk Powers and Glenn ░▐ ▌░ Kithcart. They made the third album Powerhouse, still without ░▐ ▌░ popular response. ░▐ ▌░ ░▐ ▌░ --- ░▐ ▌░ ░▐ ▌░ Absurdly underrated. This is a keyboard based rock album, a ░▐ ▌░ trio, then no guitar solos or riffs, so no AOR (Album ░▐ ▌░ Oriented Rock!?, whatever that means). There is no hard rock ░▐ ▌░ intention so no ELP resemblance. It's just an album of ░▐ ▌░ beautiful melodies circa pop, well sung, sometimes with some ░▐ ▌░ British sound, with a good keyboard player and a rhythm ░▐ ▌░ section alike. There is more similitude with progressive ░▐ ▌░ Italian bands, like Le Orme, but playing more simple music. ░▐ ▌░ This band in UK would have been a great success.
