I am seriously ║ │ │║ thinking of creating a blue print for these ║ │ │║ bands. My opinion about Italian (power) metal ║ │ │║ acts is quite uniform and Arthemis are not able ║ │ │║ to change that. I have heard the name once or ║ │ │║ twice before but I didnÆt really know the band. ║ │ │║ According to the biography apparently I am the ║ │ │║ only one and the band is æone of the leading ║ │ │║ European metal bandsÆ. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ Well, I donÆt think so. The fact that they have ║ │ │║ toured with bands like Slayer, Within ║ │ │║ Temptation, HammerFall and CoF doesnÆt change ║ │ │║ that. Positive characteristics of the album are ║ │ │║ the dark atmosphere and the fact that the music ║ │ │║ is heavier and not much influenced by ║ │ │║ neo-classical metal. Therefore there are some ║ │ │║ good heavy parts on the album, but as can be ║ │ │║ expected from an Italian metal act, the singer ║ │ │║ sucks. Without the high pitched, yelling voice ║ │ │║ of Allesio Garavello the music could be much ║ │ │║ more entertaining, but his voice irritates me ║ │ │║ that much that I canÆt shut it out. The ║ │ │║ qualities of the other members are totally ║ │ │║ pushed aside by the limited capacities of ║ │ │║ Allesio. His yelling is even more irritating ║ │ │║ than the singing of Timo Kotipelto trying to ║ │ │║ reach the high notes. The vocals are very ║ │ │║ present, there are only very limited parts ║ │ │║ without vocals. On the bandÆs website they want ║ │ │║ us to know that this album has got some very ║ │ │║ positive reviews by other e-zines. I am happy ║ │ │║ that the LoM crew do have working ears. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ So in conclusion, this is a nice album ║ │ │║ musically, but a drama vocally. Change the ║ │ │║ singer if you really want to become one of ║ │ │║ EuropeÆs leading metal bands.
