Old bio: Formed in 2003 as Jamie Nickerson (guitars), Daniel Grissom (vocals, keys), Joshua Philips (bass), and Zack Van Hoy (drums), the band was set out to play melodic hardcore in the vein of Beloved, Hopesfall, Norma Jean etc. This lineup completed a 3 song demo and an 8 song album entitled "A New Life Given" before adding a lead guitar player in Brady Sweat (formerly of Seven Times Today and also part of My Epic). Additional guitar tracks were added at this point on all of the completed tracks for "A New Life Given" before it was ever released. However, it wasnt until the next album that Brady's impact was seen. Going in a more technical direction, the newly christened quintet churned out a new 3 song demo to circulate in 2005. With a largely positive response to the new material, the group went back to the drawing board to write a 30 minute 5 song EP that was eventually recorded with Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, Beloved, etc.). Before releasing the album, the band experienced some set backs as Van Hoy left the band to pursue other musical interests and Grissom and Sweat were tied down with other projects. 2007 saw the return of Called To Arms with Brady's younger brother Grayson Sweat behind the drums. The return garnered attention from Tragic Hero Records, and their 5 song EP "The Last Lament" was finally released in November of 2007. The band is currently working on their 3rd album, a full length of all brand new material, to be released sometime in 2009. **CTA is currently working on new material for their next album, due to be released in 2009. They are recording with Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, Beloved, Glass Casket etc). The album will be a concept album based on The C.S.
