After having ║ │ │║ sung for a couple of years at the side of mister ║ │ │║ Blackmore, he went on to do the vocals with ║ │ │║ another guitar hero being our Swedish ego- ║ │ │║ tripper Yngwie Malmsteen. With mister Malmsteen ║ │ │║ DoogieÆs adventure lasted about six and a half ║ │ │║ years and two albums and recently he very ║ │ │║ surprisingly joined the reincarnated New Wave Of ║ │ │║ British Heavy Metal band Tank. Besides all of ║ │ │║ this over the years Doogie also recorded four ║ │ │║ (great) albums with his band/project ║ │ │║ Cornerstone. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ So now Doogie thought it was about time to ║ │ │║ record a true solo-album. æAs Yet UntitledÆ ║ │ │║ contains ten very strong melodic but still very ║ │ │║ heavy tracks, which Doogie has co-written with a ║ │ │║ number of good friends that he made over the ║ │ │║ years in the rock scene. The list of musicians ║ │ │║ that have contributed to the album is without a ║ │ │║ doubt very impressive: Patrick Johansson (Yngwie ║ │ │║ Malmsteen, drums), Thomas Broman (Glenn Hughes, ║ │ │║ drums), Derek Sherinian (Black Country ║ │ │║ Communion, keyboards), Tony Carey (ex-Rainbow, ║ │ │║ keyboards), Neil Murray (ex-Whitesnake, bass), ║ │ │║ Greg Smith (Ted Nugent, bass), Paul Logue ║ │ │║ (EdenÆs Curse, bass), Pontus Norgren ║ │ │║ (Hammerfall, guitar), Marcus Jidell (Royal Hunt, ║ │ │║ guitar) and band mate Mick Tucker (Tank, ║ │ │║ guitar). Furthermore Patti Russo, well-known of ║ │ │║ her work with Cher and Meat Loaf, has ║ │ │║ contributed to the backing vocals. With this ║ │ │║ amount of world-class musicians this æAs Yet ║ │ │║ UntitledÆ must have become a truly great album ║ │ │║ and as a matter of fact it certainly has! Doogie ║ │ │║ proves that he still knows how to sing, but ║ │ │║ especially the mighty fine melodic and still ║ │ │║ very heavy song material with very recognizable ║ │ │║ choruses and flashy guitar work are the main ║ │ │║ ingredients that make this album a very ║ │ │║ enjoyable one. After a keyboard intro æCome ║ │ │║ Taste The BandÆ is the first fine example ║ │ │║ hereof, but also songs like æLonelyÆ, æLand Of ║ │ │║ The DeceiverÆ, ÆLiving On The CheapÆ and æCatz ║ │ │║ Got Yer TongueÆ (hello AC/DC!) are all very good ║ │ │║ songs.s ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ As a matter of fact thereÆs not a weak moment to ║ │ │║ be found on æAs Yet UntitledÆ and thatÆs the way ║ │ │║ itÆs supposed to be when you have the intention ║ │ │║ to make a successful album.
