Composed of HERMIT (Matheus ▒█░ ░█▒ Cornely) on vocals and guitar and MOON (Vinicius Biz) on bass and ▒█░ ░█▒ backing vocals, HALFSLEEPER emerged from an attempt to present ▒█░ ░█▒ subtle elements of different musical genres that are part of its ▒█░ ░█▒ members' eclectic background. The project draws influences from ▒█░ ░█▒ industrial music, shoegaze, darkwave, and synthpop, expressing ▒█░ ░█▒ these influences through the distinctive features of post-punk, ▒█░ ░█▒ such as the use of drum machines, pulsating bass, synthesizers, ▒█░ ░█▒ and guitars that overuse modulation effects. ▒█░ ░█▒ ▒█░ ░█▒ Three years after the release of the EP The Hook that Killed the ▒█░ ░█▒ Ocean (2022) and the singles "Remembrance Day" (2024), "There ▒█░ ░█▒ Goes a Shadow," and "Tortured Souls" (2025), the band is ▒█░ ░█▒ preparing to release their debut album, "Midnight Blue", ▒█░ ░█▒ featuring eight original tracks, with four additional bonus ▒█░ ░█▒ remixes of album tracks. ▒█░ ░█▒ ▒█░ ░█▒ "Midnight Blue" doesn't simply describe human relationships; the ▒█░ ░█▒ album dissects them, exposing their complex and often ▒█░ ░█▒ uncomfortable, yet universal, inner workings.
