Again. It seems as ║ │ │║ unstoppable as the seasons. Sometimes that is ║ │ │║ pleasing, sometimes it is not. Meet Headquakes ║ │ │║ with their second album æFallout DiariesÆ. Their ║ │ │║ debute album is totally unknown to me. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ For these guys it is a pity that this album has ║ │ │║ not become a masterpiece. I suspect you know ║ │ │║ what causes that. Of course the vocals are the ║ │ │║ main cause. Honestly, it is not that bad this ║ │ │║ time, but it still is far from passionate. ║ │ │║ Singer Giovanni Venier sings too monotone and ║ │ │║ unexciting to keep me entertained. Positive ║ │ │║ remark on the vocals: there are no false notes ║ │ │║ on this and and the singer doesnÆt go where he ║ │ │║ shouldnÆt. The music. Well, the music is of a ║ │ │║ very descent level. The members are very well ║ │ │║ able to show their individual qualities in ║ │ │║ combination with writing good metal songs. There ║ │ │║ is a lot of variation and landmarks are equally ║ │ │║ present. Comparisons? It sounds somewhat like a ║ │ │║ more expressive version of PovertyÆs No Crime. ║ │ │║ That act also uses timide vocals, but those are ║ │ │║ still slightly better. The sound of the album ║ │ │║ could be somewhat more explicit, but is rather ║ │ │║ good actually. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ In short; musically this is a good album, but ║ │ │║ the vocals make it less enjoyable that it ║ │ │║ potentially is. These guys still should be proud ║ │ │║ on what they made here, but with better vocals ║ │ │║ this band could become æbigÆ.
