J.P. Mortier doubles your pleasure with an ambitious double album that pulls
no punches with songs full of social consciousness.
The album is not a concept album but does follow a thematic path about
various aspects of society and our role within it, asking questions about
what is our country, how is technology affecting our lives, our freedoms and
the rights of minorities, where do we stand regarding religion, wealth, the
respect of the environment and other issues that control our lives.
Despite the weight of the subject matter, the songs on the album rocks with a
variety of sounds, moods and tempos that is as entertaining as much as it is
thought provoking.
The album features the talent of wonderful musicians. StΘfane Pelletier and
his amazing guitar playing appears on 5 songs. Beth McKenna, a young
saxophone talent, livens up the set with some great solos. Juno award-winning
vocalist Sienna Dahlen lends her beautiful voice to the mix. Returning to
help out on back vocals is Kimberly Bourgeois. Let's not forget, my old
comrades, Sylvain Auclair on bass and Chapman stick and drummer Daniel
GrΘgoire.
Finally, the contribution from award winning sound engineer, mixer and
co-producer Bill Szawlowski has been invaluable to the quality of the
production. He also has contributed with some choice guitar riffs here and
there along with his sons, Ryan and Justin Szawlowski.
Enjoy the album.
