A hidden gem that marks the true genesis of La Ley, Desiertos
(Remasterizado 2025) is the band's ultra-rare debut album, originally
released independently in 1990 with only 500 copies in circulation.
This atmospheric and introspective collection captures the band mid-
formation, featuring the first recordings with iconic frontman Beto
Cuevas alongside founding members Andres Bobe and Rodrigo Aboitiz.
Steeped in dark new wave and post-punk textures reminiscent of British
acts like The Cure and Talk Talk, the album builds its spine from
emotional tension, layering synthetic arrangements with expressive
guitar work on tracks like the title song "Desiertos" and the brooding
"Sad". Long considered a "cult object" by fans, this long-awaited 2025
remaster finally brings the band's atmospheric and experimental origins
to light, serving as an essential document of the journey that would
later propel La Ley to international stardom.
