Tracker (Echof°n Remix) [ 5:46 ] ------- Playtime : 24:27 Min Releasenotes: Detroit's Blank Code Records, a cornerstone of the underground electronic music scene, returns with their second release on the more experimental sublabel Modern Relics, following the contributions by Echof°n, Tilt aka Anthony Jimenez, DYL, and Drumcell. Local Analyst is an upcoming artist from Portland, Oregon, and with 'Stripes of Oil,' diversifies his educated sound for a more atmospheric approach. His techno productions have graced top labels such as Edit Select, Duplicity, Cogo, and Diffuse Reality. Returning for remix duty, Echof°n is a new Detroit techno alias formed by longtime collaborators Chad Parraghi and Corbin Davis. Parraghi, a Detroit techno veteran since the 1990s and co-founder of Blank Code Records and Project 313, has released on labels including his imprint Blank Code along with other labels like System, Northern Parallels, and Illegal Alien, sharing stages with artists like DVS1 and Function. Davis, also active since the mid 1990s, is a co-founder of Blank Code Records and performs as Tetzzie, with releases on Detroit Underground, Blank Code, and Klectik. Together, Echof°n channels decades of Detroit underground experience into a focused, atmospheric techno sound. Opening with "Stripes of Oil" opens the door to an ethereal world of dubby wonder. Bending and phasing textures, bass growls, sci-fi shimmers shape a mesmeric palette of experimentalism. "Tracker" follows with a stuttering kick drum as the foundation. Swirling effects, popping accents, and metallic drones create an abstract rhythm of delicate precision and definite prowess. Next, "A Tender Hand" has a looming sense of depth and introspection. Haunting bells fill the sparse airwaves with dramatic tension, while skittering percussion adds a detailed exploration into cinematic sound design. Echof°n's remix of "Tracker" dives into a throbbing, parallel universe of patience, that suddenly bursts into life with flickering hits and a double time groove before a satisfying breakdown of ambient breathing space.
