Indeed this is a ║ │ │║ description that suits Nordhiem's sound ║ │ │║ perfectly. This is harsh, heavy power metal with ║ │ │║ themes based on war. River of Death is a ║ │ │║ fantastic album (and in fact is pretty much a ║ │ │║ mixture of all songs Nordheim have ever ║ │ │║ recorded). ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ The first track 'River of Death' is one of the ║ │ │║ best on the album. It starts with some catchy ║ │ │║ guitar work which leads to some decent power ║ │ │║ metal instrumentation and the vocals are ║ │ │║ incredibly unique. On this song Nordheim managed ║ │ │║ to mix both clean power metal voice and ║ │ │║ aggressive death metal gruntish vocals. However ║ │ │║ this mix of death and power metal vocals is not ║ │ │║ persistent on the whole album. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ The album in fact explores several power metal ║ │ │║ directions (symphonic, atmospheric and speed), ║ │ │║ but overall the outcome of every song is ║ │ │║ incredibly aggressive.
