Subtle Ones came about from the shared fascination with timbre that brought Robot Koch and BlankFor.ms together. Connecting on saturated tape tones and analog noise, the two began Subtle Ones with a 4 track cassette improvisation featuring an old spinet piano. Koch used these ingredients to add his own magic to create an ambient yet pulsing production and added arrangement ideas. BlankFor.ms added chords and textures using a Sequential Prophet Six and a eurorack modular case heavily featuring the Strymon Magneto.
