Over the years, IÆve been lucky to be █ █ surrounded by extremely gifted songwriters and theyÆve taught me all I █ █ know about the writing process. █ █ █ █ Ever since I first heard Ben FoldsÆs ôRockinÆ the Suburbsö in college, █ █ IÆve wanted to make a record where I played all the instruments myself. █ █ I came pretty close on ôLosing the Paper Moonö. While my main instrument █ █ is bass, I picked up the drums, guitar, piano, and, pretty much anything █ █ with strings, while playing with different groups. I learned whatever █ █ was needed at the time. I wrote a few of the songs with Tim Warren and █ █ Eric Donnelly of The Alternate Routes, who were kind enough to record █ █ those songs with me. The talented Mike Smirnoff helped me with most of █ █ the drums on the album.
