The title track, which kicks off the disc, features a vocal refrain that recalls South African choral music (a la Ladysmith Black Mambazo) weaving through a tapestry of percussive leads and digital sounds. "Nomad's Land" conjures desertscapes with haunting keyboard lines, plangent Middle Eastern singing, and pulsing, downtempo rhythms. Several of the tunes feature quotations of Indian music (tabla, sitar, and classical Indian singing are evident throughout), but juxtapose these with ghostly ambient textures (often accented by hand percussion) and driving techno passages.
