Their albums contained short rock songs with influences ranging from rock and roll and the Beatles to heavy rock and glitter rock , much like the latter phase of The Move or their successors Wizzard (omitting the cello though!). This mixture works suprisingly well at times due to the above average songwritingàà Not a good name to google. Storm seems to be a popular band name, especially in the metal sector. But that much was to be found out: Storm from Malm÷ met in 1974. The guitarist and button presser Bengt Holmqvist was previously active in the bands Bootjacks and Troublemakers. The band released three albums ("Stormvarning", 1974, "Storm at the Top", 1975, and "Casanova i Mj÷lby", 1977) before breaking up in the late 1970s. The Storm debut (and also "Storm at the Top") was re-released on CD by Eastworld in 2012, but without any biographical information in the booklet. In connection with "Stormvarning" you come across the name Zappa in the worldwide network. This will probably be due to the humorous, cabaret-like character of the music and certain similar moments that occur again and again on the disc, in which jazzy-rock winds and somewhat bulkier rock clash. Otherwise this music has little to do with Zappa. The Swedes were more likely to have a similar sense of humor. Basically, on "Stromvarning" you can hear a "good mood prog", which is not so rare in Sweden, a very colorful, humorous mixture or string of different stylistic ingredients, such as those of the colleagues at Samla Mamma's Manna, Arbete och Fritid, Archimedes Badkar or Mikael Ramel were on offer at the time. Protoprog, rock, Canterbury-like, blues-rock, jazz-rock, folk and early seventies pop can be heard here, or interwoven fragments of them. Sometimes "Stormvarning" is prrogged and jammed a bit more extensively (in the long "Tatt Ihop", for example), otherwise there is quite entertaining music to be heard here, with the large line-up very versatile, which can roughly be classified somewhere in the genre of jazz rock , a herbaceous-confused jazz rock, perhaps a little α la early Embryo, provided with all sorts of babbling and fun, Schlager-Pop excursions, harder blues rock, short folk song interludes, humming synthesizer bursts, various Prog-George and occasional excursions into slightly Zappaesque realms. The tonal result is thoroughly entertaining and of course extremely varied ... maybe a little too varied, as there is actually quite a bit of rock confusion, albeit a virtuoso music.
